For 2012, the NSPL is running a multi-format structure to standardise the league with international play and encourage the development of the M7 multi-point format at the same time. Division One will be exclusively M7 format, a fast-paced multi-point X-Ball varient. Division Two will be a cut-down version of the M7 format called 'Race-To-2'. Division Three will play the popular Five Man format on Millennium sized fields. Division Four has been replaced by our King of the Hill division for the foreseeable future.

Teams will be ranked on their performance at a total of four events. Each team is required to play all four events and the score from each event will used to decide the final end-of-season rankings.
